Salem Jamal Al-Sheikh Bakri
It is the passion for making the written word breathe with truth and emotion, and harnessing the voice to create images, light, and color, that led him to adopt the craft of word, sound, and image as a profession and a way of life. He first delved into the skills of speech and eloquence, then mastered the tools of the human voice, starting in 2008 as a voice-over artist for regional and international networks such as National Geographic, Al Jazeera Documentary, Bloomberg, and Asharq News, as well as a dubbing artist for Spacetoon.
After completing his law degree, he began his television career as an editor and presenter for news bulletins, reports, and programs on Al-Dunya TV. He became one of the most prominent names in the Syrian media sector, practicing his profession under the grueling conditions of war, which provided him with immense experience within complex and dangerous environments.
In 2013, he began documentary filmmaking, covering everything from research and scripting to directing and voice-over. He established an entire television department that produced over 50 long and short documentaries under his management—titles that audiences still seek out today.
Since 2015, he has been a trainer in vocal performance, TV presentation, body language, and public communication, graduating thousands of trainees, many of whom now work in various Arab media institutions.
He authored the book “The Art of Control Using Voice and Body” as a specialized training curriculum and served as a lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism at Damascus University, teaching “Radio and TV Presentation – Practical Side” from 2019 until he moved to the UAE in early 2023.
In Dubai, he resumed his work as a media trainer for hundreds of students of various nationalities. In Abu Dhabi, he has been the lead trainer for the “Emirati Women’s Journey” initiative since its founding in 2024, training approximately 200 elite women from Emirati society over three consecutive years.
At Taqueen, he believed in the project from its birth as a partner in name, ideas, and ambition. He contributed to the foundational steps and the conceptualization of the film “From Sands to Stars – Zayed bin Sultan,” and subsequently took charge of research, preparation, voice-over, and the supervision of the execution process.
